Thoughts People Have While Taking A Test

Everyone knows that tests suck, but it doesn't stop our teachers from giving them to us--sometimes all in the same day. We've all had that test that we didn't study enough for, or study for at all. Some teachers even give out tests that have barely anything you've actually learned about in class. Either way we've all had a bad test and these thoughts while taking it.

1. Wait, there's a test today?

2. No, the test definitely wasn't for another two weeks.

3. Oh, yep it's been two weeks already.

4. It's okay I got this.

5. *Gets test, writes name* All good here.

6. *Looks at first question.* Nope I'm screwed.

7. It's OK, I'll go back to that one later.

8. *Looks at next question.* And that one too.

9. I'm hungry. I should get food after this.

10. What food do I want to get?

11. Crap, how much time is left?

12. How many of these do I have to get right in order to pass?

13. Is there going to be a curve? I hope so.

14. Ooh, I recognize this word. I don't know what it means, but I'll pick that one.

15. Both of these look right. Which one do I pick?

16. When in doubt, C it out.

17. I'm so funny. I should just drop out and become a comedian.

18. Great, now I'm just laughing in the middle of a test.

19. My parents are going to kill me.

20. I'm hungry.

21. Can people hear my stomach sounding like a dying whale right now?

22. There are too many of this letter in a row, I need to change one.

23. Well that one was easy. Good job, me.

24. Yeah no, we definitely never learned about this.

25. I wonder where everyone else is in the test. *Looks around*

26. I've never seen that person in this class before.

27. Crap, the teacher definitely just saw me looking around. *Stares at test.*

28. *Mentally scolds self for not studying more or at all.*

29. When can I leave?

30. I need a vision like Raven or a Jimmy Neutron brain blast right now.

31. Wait, how are they done already?

32. Okay, I'm done. That wasn't too horrible.

33. Just kidding, I probably failed.

34. Now I can go get food at least.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
