I'd be lying if I said I didn't have my hopes up for this movie.

Going in there was this nagging voice in the back of my head that said, "it's been ten years." What if they had waited too long? Other than that little factor, I was expecting nothing but greatness from this movie. Fortunately, I am here to report that my expectations were not only fulfilled, but exceeded.

Zombieland 2 was everything I wanted it to be and more.

The original cast is back and better than ever. They play characters that were created ten years ago as if they had filmed the movies back to back. In fact, that hits at the heart of what's so great about this movie. Zombieland 2 is the perfect sequel because it taps into the magic of the original. The stylistic similarity makes the two movies work extremely well together.

In addition, everything new that Zombieland 2 brought to the table was tastefully done and very well executed. The new cast adds flavor and is not overbearing. A new standout is Zoey Deutch, who plays a character that...well you'll just have to see for yourself. From the multitude of new characters, to the new set pieces and story focuses, all of the new makes for fun interaction with the old.

Oh and remember the awesome action from the first movie? Yea, they dial it up to eleven in Zombieland 2. Without spoiling anything, the opening title sequences rivals that of the original in sheer zombie action.

To be honest, why are you even still reading this? If you liked the first movie you'll love this one. It's time to nut up or shut up, because Zombieland 2 is in theaters now.
