Earlier today, news broke that Dwyane Wade's daughter, named Zion at birth, had changed their name to Zaya and come out as trans.
For a family as famous as the Wades, it isn't always the easiest thing for a child to come out because they are immediately in the spotlight — and criticism that comes with it. It takes guts, courage, and a lot of love to face the people who will likely be against your coming out. That is exactly what Dwyane, Gabrielle, and the whole Wade family is giving Zaya.
