We can all guess how hard it is to 'blow up' in the music industry. For those of you who love country music, you're in for a treat. Many of you know that some of the best music goes unheard. If it's not someone that is hot at the time, then you're probably not going to hear their music. I was lucky to stumble across one of the best talents that I have ever heard. While scrolling through twitter one day, one of my friends retweeted a video of a guy singing and playing guitar. I gave it a listen and was instantly hooked! Zach Bryan will soon be on top of the charts, mark my words. Most of his music isn't available on anything but YouTube. If you have a minute and are curious, I highly suggest you give these songs a listen.

From A Lovers Point Of View

This song is from his girlfriend's, Rose, point of view. She knows he had gotten the short end of the stick many times throughout his life, but she won't let that be an excuse for his behavior. In a little over three minutes, this song displays the true commitment and love that Rose has for Zach. No matter what he does, she says that she is never leaving. I can connect to this song on so many levels. When you finally find someone who is going to love you, for you, regardless, it truly is the greatest feeling in the world. My favorite line in the song, "cause a lover doesn't leave when times like this get dark, I'll be there to watch the sunrise when we reclaim your heart", gives me hope in my relationship.

Don't Give Up On Me

Just as the title says, he doesn't want her to give up on him. The bond that they have made is stronger than ever, and the way he feels about her is only second to the way I feel about my girlfriend. My favorite line in the song, "you're a sight of utmost beauty, utmost strength, and utmost loyalty", perfectly describes the way I feel.

Shivers Down Spines

We have all had that feeling of shivers going down our spine. This song is purely about the way Rose makes him feel. I've only met one person who does this to me. I can't even really describe what stimulus creates the "shivers" that you experience. Once you meet the person who does this to you, you're going to be hooked. The phrase, "I would do anything for you", will definitely come to light. This song is one of my favorites because you can actually put yourself in his shoes. The lyrics are so pure and from the heart. My two favorite lines in the song, "I pray that you know all my dreams and my hopes have you holding me the day that I die" and "cause beauty that holy and a heart so kind deserves a place it can fly", hit me right at home.

Snow

This song brings me to tears. I have never in my life connected to a song so perfectly. If you find someone who feels this way about you, be thankful because you are one lucky person. If your significant other doesn't push you to become a better you, I would take that into consideration. I absolutely love this song, and I think you will too. My favorite line in the song, "I bet the angels are jealous of a girl I know, she takes my stain and makes me white as snow", reminds me so much of my girlfriend. She is the first one to correct my mishaps, and she isn't afraid to call me out on anything. She literally takes my stain and makes me white as snow.

God Speed

This song was the first ever song by Zach Bryan that I heard. I immediately played it for my roommate, and we both were hooked. This is perfect for an opening song on a drive to set the mood. I'm pretty sure I have listened to this song over 500 times. I feel like this song describes what most men feel, moving at God Speed. No one knows how we feel about things because we like to stay closed off. I'm not trying to speak for all men, but I know most of us are protective of our feelings because we don't want to seem "soft". I was just like this before, but now, I could really care less what picture others paint of me. I know who I am, what I want to be, and who I want to be with; no one's opinion of me is going to change what I want. My favorite line in the song, "and I wanna love a girl who doesn't worry about the pictures when we kiss, wake up one day and not be so hit and miss", came to life. Being in a healthy relationship where the energy is matched is a blessing.

I hope anyone who took the time to read this decides to check out Zach's music. He is a very talented individual with an amazing story. I promise that you will be able to connect to so many of his songs.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
