Pinterest, the popular website where users can "pin" certain recipes and links on organized "pinboards", just released their list of their predicted food trends for 2016. Take a peek at some of the unique and new trends!
Avocado Oil
Coconut oil might have been huge this last year, but Pinterest predicts that Avocado Oil, which is rich in antioxidants, Vitamins C and E, and good-for-you fats.
Pour-Over Coffee
This coffee trend is all the rage, so expect to see a lot of it in the upcoming year. This method involves water being poured over coffee grounds in a filter, which is over the desired coffee mug. This trend might not be as popular with on-the-go coffee drinkers, as it is a little time consuming. However, the results are too good to pass up.
Veggie Swaps
People looking to try out clean eating or those trying out vegetarianism have been swapping meats, carbs, and other foods for their favorite vegetables. This trend includes recipes like veggie pasta--noodles made out of squash or other vegetables.
Beertails
Beer cocktails have been increasing in popularity in trendy bars across the country. Not too sure how good a beer-mimosa sounds, but expect to see more of these when you go out come the new year.
Homebrews
Another beer trend, Pinterest predicts that more people are going to experiment with creating their own, homemade beer in 2016.
Gourmet Heritage Cusine
Pinterest says that this trend consists of "gourmet spins on traditional cultural cuisines." So, expect to see more high-end international recipes springing up, like this recipe for posh fish and chips.
Bento Boxes
This trend originated in Japan way before now, but Americans are going to go crazy for these organized, instagram-worthy recipes.
Savory Desserts
