If you’re like me, you’ve been to Disneyland in California too many times and you’re proud of it. Disneyland is like a second home to you and every year you try and make the trip to Anaheim to visit the happiest place on earth. Here is how you can be certain that you’ve been there too many times.
1. You don’t know how many times you have been.
You have been to Disneyland so many times that when people ask how many times you been you can’t give them an exact number. You usually say something like “a lot” or “too many” but the fact of the matter is you have no idea how many times you have been.
2. You can sing the songs from the rides from memory.
Whether it's Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean or even Space Mountain, you know all the songs. You may even have them on your phone. Pro tip: Playing the Space Mountain music while driving is always fun. Just make sure not to go too fast.
3. You’ve been on every ride.
You’re not ashamed to admit that you have conquered every single ride at the Disneyland Resort. It’s nearly impossible to pick a favorite, but you have at least two or three that you know you have to go on every time you go to the parks.
4. You don’t need a map to navigate.
You’ve memorized the layout of the parks and know where everything is, so there’s no need for you to pick up a map at the main entrance. You usually get at least one to keep as a free souvenir.
5. You know when the lines are shortest.
California Screamin’ is usually shortest int he afternoon, and Splash Mountain is nearly always a walk-on during Fantsmic. If you’re lucky you can get on Splash twice without having to wait as long as you get there before the end of Fantasmic. Every ride has times during the day when the line is at its shortest.
6. You know the best hotels to stay at.
The resort hotels are the best, but they’re also pricey. Luckily there are lots of hotels close to the main gate that are much more affordable. You’ve stayed at quite a few of these, but there are a few that you keep going back to. You consider these to be the best off-property hotels in the area and always recommend them to friends who are planning a trip to Anaheim.
7. You try to spy on any construction going on in the park.
There is almost always construction going on at Disneyland. If you’re lucky, you can find small holes in the barriers they put up through which you can see little pieces of the magic going on. Otherwise, you’re constantly on the lookout for points in the park where you might be able to see some of the behind-the-scenes construction.
8. You call California Adventure DCA and it really confuses people.
Sometimes saying California Adventure just seems like too much work. Disney enthusiasts have abbreviated the full name to DCA (Disney’s California Adventure) to make matters simpler. This has come up in conversations with friends while talking about the parks and always gets a questioning look and a “DCA?”
