If you're anything like me, then you must watch YouTube videos instead of watching TV all day. Personally, I love finding new YouTube creators, or "YouTubers," and bingeing on all of their videos for hours at a time. These creators have become idols in my life for what they do and how they seem to carry themselves online.
I have been told plenty of times that I have a personality fit for YouTube and that I should make a channel. However, I do know that there are a lot of hardships and struggles with putting yourself on such a huge platform, open to judgment and critique. Because of this, I'll just stick to watching from the sidelines... for now. So, I have decided to comprise a list of four YouTubers that you should definitely check out!
1. Emma Chamberlain
I found one of Emma's videos on the sidebar of suggested videos while I was watching a Shane Dawson video, and I found her videos to be very funny. With a mix of her personality and her editing skills, I quickly found myself spending hours watching every one of her videos. She is a very charismatic person, whether she was trying to convey charisma or not, and is a very likable person. I also found her sense of humor to be similar to mine, filled with sarcastic jokes, funny one-liners, and puns.
One of my favorite videos of hers is of her making a coffee cake. This was one of the first (and funniest) videos I've seen of hers – I feel that this is a great 'introductory video' to show who Emma Chamberlain is.
2/3. Cody Ko/Noel Miller (Tiny Meat Gang)
Now, I put these two together because they film a lot of videos with each other. Both of them were popular on Vine, however, due to the app shutting down, they came to YouTube. As they quickly grew to internet fame, they started a rap duo called "Tiny Meat Gang." With this rap duo, they have released an EP with over 500,000 streams. They each have separate channels and one shared channel where they do a weekly podcast simply titled "TMG Podcast."
One video they have done together that resonates with me is part of a series titled "That's Cringe." In this video, they react to a video of Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray verbally attacking a young fan. I find myself coming back to this video quite a lot, because it showcases their humor in such a great way.
4. Gabriel Zamora
Lastly, I decided to stray away from the comedy channels and showcase a beauty influencer. He goes by the name of Gabriel Zamora and although he doesn't have as many followers as James Charles or MannyMUA, he sure is comparable to both of them.
I really enjoy watching Gabriel's videos, because he just seems so genuine, as opposed to putting on a personality for the camera. He is noticeably calmer than other beauty vloggers, making his videos easier to watch for me, personally. He does a lot of "Get Ready With Me" and makeup challenge videos. Personally, I enjoy watching his "Get Ready With Me" videos, because it shows his skill at makeup and his personality all in one.
YouTube is a creative space for people to showcase themselves in any way they please. I hope you find these four YouTubers as enjoyable as I do, and be sure to keep up with their content.
