A few weeks ago, Youtuber, singer and actress Colleen Ballinger released her long-awaited Netflix original series, "Haters Back Off," which features the story of her popular Youtube character, Miranda Sings. The highly awaited show is already gaining in popularity, and although ratings for the show vary (the show has a 43% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but a 6.7 out of 10 star rating on IMDB, and a 4.5 out of 5 star rating on Netflix), it's established itself as a popular Netflix original.

The show, which follows egotistical-yet endearing teenager Miranda (Colleen Ballinger), who has big dreams of becoming a celebrity. Alongside her are Uncle Jim (played by Jim Little) and her friend Patrick (Erik Stocklin), Miranda is determined to become a popular Youtube sensation. The show also features her relationship with her hypochondriac mother, Bethany (Angela Kinsey), and her sister, Emily (Francesca Reale), who seems to be the only character rooted to reality. Haters Back Off takes us to the beginning of Miranda's career, in the fictional timeline before any of her real-life Youtube videos, so it offers us a glance into her start and family life. It's definitely an interesting new take on Miranda's character, and I think the show will continue to be successful, especially among longtime fans of Miranda's Youtube channel.

Personally, I love the show, and I think it offers a really exciting perspective into Miranda's life that we've never seen before, and it's interesting to finally learn about her backstory. I was definitely not disappointed by the newest chapter of the Miranda universe, and I think other fans of Colleen and Miranda will agree. The show is definitely worth checking out, and I can't wait for (possible) future episodes!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
