Youtube Is Superior To Netflix— Especially For College Students Who Need A Little Study Break

Don't get me wrong, I love the endless amount of shows Netflix has to offer. As a college student, I just don't have time to binge watch hour-long episodes anymore. If I need a quick study break, I go straight to my YouTube app.

YouTube has been around since 2005, but I feel like it is at its peak right now. There is content for everyone to enjoy. There are mommy bloggers, teenage vloggers, beauty channels and more. The cool thing about YouTube is that everyone's own life perspectives are right there at your fingertips. It's neat to see how people live their day-to-day lives. This is exactly why I enjoy watching vlogs so much.

Personally, my favorite YouTuber is David Dobrik. He posts vlogs twice a week that are each under five minutes. They don't take much time to watch, therefore I feel more productive throughout the day and I don't ever feel guilty for watching them. Every night before I go to bed, I'll watch a couple of his videos. I also enjoy many other accounts. Shows like American Idol and The Voice have their own accounts and they post clips from their episodes. I don't have time to keep up with the live episodes, so this is the perfect way to catch the highlights.

If you ever feel like you are drowning in schoolwork or any other responsibilities, and you don't have time to watch the full-length episodes of the hottest new show, I recommend looking into YouTube. Just search for whatever topic you are interested in, and I promise you will find something you like. You can make an account and subscribe to all of your favorite channels and even sign up for notifications every time one of your favorite YouTubers uploads a new video. There are videos for everyone!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
