What everyone says is SOOOOOO correct. Sorority life is just downright awful.
It's absolutely terrible having a large group of girls who care about your wellbeing. They're always texting you to make sure you're doing okay or asking you to have lunch if you've had a bad day. Sisters are just constantly texting asking to hang out and see you.
It's horrid having a strong connection with your pledge class. You connect so well with so many girls, you're just bombarded with multiple friendships. It's a huge burden really. Multiple friends are just crazy to keep up, especially when they're ones who care about you.
Don't even get me started on philanthropy. Helping raise money to support a worthy cause is exhausting. My sorority—Gamma Phi Beta—dedicates our philanthropic efforts to Girls On the Run. It's just cruel that we have to spend our time supporting little girls who look up to us, and we get to become strong influences in their lives. Having little girls who tell us they appreciate us is just absurd. Who would want to spend their time with such sweet, carefree, innocent little souls?
The absolute worst part is having friends for life. You will have to invite sisters to your wedding, to help with your baby shower, to be there through every hard time. It's going to be a constant bother having such a strong support system who will love you no matter what. SUCH a burden, ugh.
Okay, so obviously this is all a sarcastic piece. I absolutely adore my sisters more than anything. I hate that sorority life has such a negative connotation. It's the best thing to ever happen to me. This piece just somewhat explains the wonderful aspects of it. I love sorority life and I will support it until the day I die.
