Don't Hate The Handicapped Because They Have A Special Parking Pass

Just because you cannot see a disability, does not mean there isn't one.

To the person who left this note behind, here are a few things I am going to educate you on.

You have no idea what any person is going through. Just because you cannot see a disability, does not mean that there is not one.

People suffer from a plethora of illnesses that cannot be physically seen, such as vision problems, cardiac issues, lung complications, severe pain, autonomic diseases, and more.

All of which qualify for a disability placard within each state. Not that is any of your business.

These individuals face daily struggles and this parking pass helps them a little bit in life.

You may think that people should be able to walk a few feet to get to their car or believe that people are just "faking" it so they can get a pass.

For people who suffer from diseases or disorders, a walk from the back of the parking lot to a store is like climbing a mountain. It can absorb all of the energy they had for that one day.

So getting a parking spot that is relatively close to the store or the location can let them conserve that energy for actually living life.

This note was left on the hood of a car of a girl I knew from high school who suffers from many different conditions. After seeing this post on Instagram, I was left frustrated and irritated.

This is a person who deals with so much in life, and you wasted your time writing down these demeaning words. Not only have you wasted your time, but you have spread more negativity into this world.

For what?

So you could feel like you accomplished something by calling someone an asshole for using a parking pass they clearly deserve.

I don't know if you have ever heard the saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover". But you should definitely follow it.

Since you are such a firm believer in "Karma", I hope Karma serves you well.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
