You're Gonna Die (Eventually)

Last time I checked, the chance of death is 100%.

You're Gonna Die (Eventually)

What's going to happen to you when you die? Will it all just end? Will you respawn just like the way it works in video games? Are you just going to feel like you’re asleep?

Well, I believe that in the end, we will each have to stand before God.

If I am right about this (which I 100% believe I am), then are you living in a way that prepares you for eternal life?

I know sometimes I’m not. Sin gets in the way, my vision gets clouded, and I get too caught up in what makes me happy in the moment rather than focusing on what God wants for my life.

Look, you don’t have to agree with me on what happens after we die, but I’m sure you can agree with me on the fact that our days in this lifetime are limited. And I’m sure you can also agree with me on the fact that they can end at any time. Car accidents, illnesses, and acts of terror are all real. We don’t know how or when we’re going to go.

I think we lose sight of that way too often. What if we walked around with a watch on our wrists telling us exactly how much time we had left? Would we be living any differently?

From the time I was a little girl, I always heard the cliché "you can change the world" thing. One time, though, a teacher was honest with me about the impact we can make. This is what he said:

"Unless you completely reinvent the wheel, you probably aren’t going to be able to change the world. However, you can change your corner of the world."

What are you doing to make things better for the people in your life? Are you a positive influence? A negative influence? Are you reaching out and truly doing the best that you can do? Are you using your talents wisely?

Are you living as if each day is your last?

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

What is "talking?" How does one "talk?"

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
