I have never really had a "thing". You know, something I was really good at or just loved to do. It seems like everyone always knows what that thing may be. For some people it's music, art, sports...anything like that.
Unless you're like me and you feel like you don't have something that you're really good at. Most people tend to find their thing when they're really young. Meanwhile, here I am, 21 years old and I'm still wandering around trying to find something to be passionate about. Sure, I have things that I enjoy doing and am talented at, but nothing that I would say I am known for.
For my boyfriend, it's music. He is ridiculously talented. He plays the guitar and has the voice of an angel. He also writes amazing lyrics. I mention to him that I wish I had his talent all the time.
I've realized lately that your thing doesn't have to be something like music or sports or art. I like to think that my "thing" is helping people. Going out of my way to help someone else have an easier time. I work at Chick fil A, and when I have a guest that walks away pleased, I feel so good about myself. I think that that says a lot.
So if you ever think you don't have a thing, that you don't have something to be passionate about, think about it from a different perspective and you may be surprised by what you find.
