Almost everyone in the 21st century has their "signature scent". It's a way of leaving your mark wherever you go. If I had a dollar for whenever someone told me "I just walked into (insert place here) and knew that you were there before because I could smell you!" I could literally buy a small island.

Perfume is an extremely tricky thing, especially since you never know if you want to overwhelm the people around you with vanilla musk 24/7. Picking out a signature scent is extremely fun, especially if you enjoy smelling nice things & feel "boujee" for a couple seconds. (like me!) So speaking from personal experience and a lot of trial and error, here are a few tips on how to pick your very own scent.

1) Figure out what you like (and what you don't like)

Makes no sense if you pick a citrus scent when you absolutely hate the smell of citruses, right?

2) Remember that every perfume smells different on everyone.

Everyone's body has different properties-- you may realize that a perfume could smell great on your friend but reeks of wet dog on you. Don't be discouraged, it's just that the pH balances in your body don't get along well with the ingredients in that particular formula.

3) Every scent never comes complete- the first ingredient is you. A perfume shouldn't hide the natural odor of a person, it should complement it.

Your goal is never to hide you. Think of your perfume as an accessory-- it enhances your natural scent instead of cancelling it out, which- contrary to popular belief, is not at all what you want.

4) Let it sit on your skin

Before picking a certain scent, let it sit on your skin for 4-6 hours and observe how the scent fades throughout the day. That's how you know whether or not a scent is truly quality.

5) Don't be afraid to e x p l o r e !

Have fun! Embrace this fun journey and all the unique smells-- never try, never know, am I right?

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
