We pull out our planners or calendars and write down our schedules for months ahead of time. We text or call our friends and plan trips or get-togethers weeks in advance. We plan weddings sometimes a year or more ahead. We plan when we want children. We plan what kind jobs we want before were even out of high school. We plan outfits or exactly how we want our house to look. We plan most things down to a T.
We often take for granted our plans taking effect and think that whatever we decide we want or plan for is going to happen. When it doesn't we are far beyond discouraged. We are quick to ask God why or frown away from Him whenever our plans fall through but hardly ever thank Him for paving out a better road.
It's often very difficult to accept change. Accepting your plans taking a different route than expected is sometimes frustrating and hard to let go of. But in the midst of change and sometimes heartache due to that change, remember that "All things are done according to God's plan and decision; and God chose us to be his own people in union with Christ because of his own purpose, based on what he had decided from the very beginning." Ephesians 1:11
When our plans fail, it's so easy to allow the enemy to attack our emotions and sadden us with hopelessness. But you have control over this. You have the opportunity to place your life in God's hands and truly surrender it all, knowing that He has your back and has such a special plan for you that you simply are not aware of yet.
If you're anything like me, you need a
plan. You like to know things and have a grasp on them. You want everything in your control. It can be really hard to let go and trust in God especially whenever it seems as though he is not hearing you or isn't even listening. In God's moment of silence, know that this is Him working on the situation. His silence may be Him saying no, or this isn't the right time. You think you know what you want, but God knows what you need. Whatever God's answer is, He is always working in your life.
"Thank you God for closing doors I am not strong enough to close and opening doors I am not strong enough to open."
