I think it's possible that you can find “your people” multiple times in your life. We all know what I mean by “your people.” We all have a group that are our “ride or die.”
It doesn’t matter if it's 2 people or if it's 15, “your people” are the people you lean to when you are in need of a laugh, a hug, a smile, or a warm dinner. “Your people” will travel the world to make sure you’re okay and will reach to the tallest mountain to make sure that you’re okay.
Sometimes people might not reach “your people” in your first try. You might make a few frenemies or even a few catfights before you find your tribe.
That tribe may last you weeks, months, or even years. Yet what happens when you find yourself without your tribe? Without “your people?” It isn’t always easy to pick up the pieces or meet the expectations of “your tribe.” It isn’t always easy to have a new tribe. They don’t just appear overnight, they don’t just say, “hi, love me.” Those tribe members are people who may feel the same exact that you are feeling now.
I’ve found myself in this situation. My tribe has moved to bigger and better things. Sure they haven’t left me. I’m one phone call way, I’m one drive away, and I’m one snapchat away from the extended warmth of there love and attention. But I was suddenlty all alone in a town they’d once always been at my reach.
Yet I also believe that its possible to find another set of tribes that will never replace current or previous tribes, but will still accentuate your life and your expectations. They’ll prove that good people exist, that people can exceed your expectations and that you can exceed theirs.
Your tribe is important so pick them wisely. Pick those who are uplifting in times of struggle, pick those who can rise to the occasion and not back down in fear. Pick those who know you and your weaknesses and require you to defeat them nonetheless.
“Your tribe” and “your people” may actually surprise you how welcome you can feel when you didn’t once feel welcome before. “And suddenly you just know … its time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings.”
Choose wisely, stay strong at your core, and love all.
