Why Your Mom Is A Real Life Superhero

So, thank you mom.

Why Your Mom Is A Real Life Superhero

They are the person who brought you into this world and their goal is to help you however they can. Our moms are real life superheroes because they manage everything we throw at them with such an ease. They work, manage to feed us every night, listen to us whenever we need to talk, understand when we do not want to talk, and they help guide us in life. This past weekend we celebrated mother’s day, but we all know that every day should be mother’s day. They truly are real life superheroes and we need to let them know that. So, to all the moms out there, we love you!

1. They went through labor to bring us into this world, and they still love us.

2. We were once smelly and crying babies, but they tolerated us.

3. The first day of school started the tradition of them making us cool lunches. We all remember the feeling of being the “cool kid” at lunch who had a shaped sandwich and Capri Sun.

4. Every picture day they dressed us because we thought butterfly hair clips and braids were cute. No one would want those photos to be a #throwbackthursday Instagram post.

5. They somehow juggled the car pooling to the 3 different sports you and your siblings played, not to mention PTA meetings. Also, who could forget the bake sales and class parties that required hundreds of baked goods.

6. They have been helping you with homework since we first learned to count and then deciphering chemistry equations.

7. Every time you fell down, they magically appeared and took care of you. They also have an abundant supply of first aid material.

8. They managed to teach us manners and respect, even if we didn’t want to learn it at the time.

9. They always told us they were proud, no matter how small of an accomplishment it was.

10. Whenever we got a bad grade or didn’t get the spot we tried out for, they were always there to tell us it would be okay.

11. They put us to sleep as babies, as children, and the times we were studying at 4 AM.

12. They are always there to give us hugs, even when we did not know we needed one.

13. Their arms were always open and their shoulders were there to cry on when we felt like nothing was going right.

14. They are always a phone call away if we need them.

15. They were our first best friend and they will always be the person we can always count on.

16. All the times we had a cold and thought we were dying, they had their supply kit. That kit consisted of medicine, soup with crackers, tissues, and more tissues.

17. They then went to work with the cold we gave them and took it in stride.

18. Whenever we were afraid to take a leap of faith, they were always there to catch us.

19. They never said "I told you so" when they had every right to tell us "I told you so".

20. Thank you, mom, for everything you have always done for me.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
