Honestly, life didn't begin until high school was over.

Sure, there were good memories and fun times, but I know it will never be a place I would want to relive or go back to.

There are a lot of seniors in high school saying how ready they are to be in college and move on with their lives, and you know what? That is perfectly okay.

College is amazing. It's okay to be done with high school and want to move forward.

In college, there is no more eight hours of straight work or one option for lunch. You can wear whatever you want without the fear of getting in trouble. You want to wear your pajamas to class? Go for it! You want to eat by yourself? That is totally okay!

College, my friends, is a great place for people that are over high school. You get to surround yourself with amazing people who come from every background. You get to learn information that's actually towards your future major and goal.

College becomes a new start for you. You don't have to be the same person you were in high school. You get to choose to start over and create a whole new identity.

Your life just got a clean slate. You can be whoever or whatever you want to be. It's a safe zone.

So, to all the high school seniors out there, life gets better after high school. Sometimes it feels like it has just begun. Cherish high school, but remember that your life is only beginning. Make memories, but know that more are to come. It's okay to be ready to leave.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
