It’s been around a month that summer break has started for us college students. It is time to get your affairs back in order!
I know being done with school work feels AMAZING, but that is no excuse to slack off! I know it is summer time now, and all you want to do is lay around and hang out with your home friends. I understand, but don’t let classes being done have a negative effect on your life!
Here are some tips I have to help get your life back in order now that you’re a little adjusted to being home, or at least ways to make it feel like it is!
1. Clean your room.
This might sound stupid like I’m your mom telling you what to do, but cleaning and organizing your room can help make such an impact on how you feel! You know where everything is, and waking up in a clean room is a great way to start your day. I know many of you probably still have boxes packed from living at school. Now it is time to unpack and settle in for the next three months!
2. Clean your car.
Obviously, this only applies if you have a car, but if you do, this helps as well. You go everywhere in your car. If it’s a mess, you are constantly seeing it and, like I said prior, having your room and car cleaned and organized really does make things feel better. Once you feel better, that's when the real changes start to begin.
3. Get a planner.
Some people don’t think a planner is useful, but they really are. Writing down all your plans and goals for the week is a helpful way to remind yourself of what you can do every day to get to where you want to be in life. We may be out of class, but writing down your plans, gym times, and plans with friends is a great way to stay busy and never forget about anything.
4. Save money.
Let me tell you, nothing is worse than being broke. It sucks feeling like you can’t do anything because most times, nothing in life is free. Budgeting and spending your money wisely helps you start to get your priorities in order. You don’t want to get back to school with barely any money and wish you had saved more. Get started now!
5. Lead a healthy lifestyle.
When you look good, you feel good! When you start to eat better and become more active, it really has a huge impact on your life in a positive way. You start to get more energy, become more productive, and believe it or not, doing these things will help with all aspects of your life. I know some of us gained the freshman 15 or just a few extra pounds from school; I know I sure did. But now it’s time to stop eating out all the time and start hitting the gym!
6. Make a vision board.
You may not think making a vision board would have that much of an impact. However, taking the time to make a vision board for the goals you have set and the way you want your life to be is really beneficial. It’s a daily reminder of what you are striving for in your present life.
There are many other ways to ensure that you are helping get your life together and feeling good about yourself, but these are just suggestions and some starting points I feel that could be useful! I know once school is done for me, I start to let go of other parts of my life. Now it’s time to get them back.
Good luck!
