As you take on junior year, the reality that you’ll be graduating in a year sets in and it will feel as if you’re suffocating in deadlines. But fear not, for I am here to make your junior year as less of a hassle as possible.
1. Get an internship.
PLEASE! In today's job market, an internship is no longer a way to stand out from the competition. It's a necessity.
2. Form a solid relationship with your professors.
They will be the people you ask to write your recommendations. Plus, they have a wide network and could be the key to getting into your chosen field.
3. Get involved.
No, it's not too late. Better now than never. There’s so much to be learned and so much experience to be gained by joining campus organizations.
4. Keep a portfolio.
This is a way to keep up with your academic work and use it to show potential employers your accomplishments inside of the classroom or at your internship.
5. Start seriously considering what you want to do with your life.
It's almost time to start applying for jobs.
6. Have fun!
This is the time to do those things that you’ve so desperately wished to do as it relates to your collegiate experience.
These things may seem overwhelming but just think about the rewards. Let’s keep senior year as stress-free as possible by taking care of these things now. May junior year be ever in your favor!
