I like to think many people are optimists. That they can handle whatever life throws at them and have no problems with still having a positive attitude. Many think of the "glass-half-full" predicament. However, in some cases, I realize that it's nearly impossible to keep your head up. Your glass is half empty and you have nothing left to put in it. To keep trucking through every day is something you believe will take a miracle. But it doesn't take a miracle. It only requires you. To have your mind in a happy place and a smile on your face. I know this can be hard sometimes, especially with what some of you are facing. However, I am here to tell you, your efforts will not go unrewarded. It has been scientifically proven that happy (healthy) thinking can improve your life not just emotionally/spiritually, but also physically. In terms of sociology, when one thinks positively, it affects how they think about lifestyle choices. For example, you just got on a new health kick and you're going to start eating better because you have a new positive body image. This means that instead of grabbing that bag of chips for a snack, you'll grab some fruit instead. This, in turn, helps improve your health (over time) and leads to happy, healthy lifestyle choices.
It can be hard to do this, I know. Things are looking down and it's been a rough time trying to keep your attitude anything above "bah humbug" and you don't even see a point in trying to keep it together any longer. But trust me, it will get better. You will heal and you will continue to do the great things you have always done for yourself and for others. You must see the glass half full, my friends. It is oh-so-important that you look at yourself and see that whatever you're going through DOES NOT define you.. You are not weak. You're simply injured, whether it be physically or emotionally....or both. Positive thoughts will affect your mind, body, and soul. You'll have new energy. You'll want to do more for yourself and for others. And yes, there will come a time when the universe tests you. You're going to feel like nothing in this world will ever go right for you. Like you've lost everything. But I will tell you this. You are wrong. I'm not trying to be mean, I promise. But you are wrong. It is high time you believe in yourself just as you do for others and it will make a difference in how you heal. You deserve to be happy and you deserve to not wake up thinking "how am I going to make it through another day like this?" A positive mindset is one of the best methods of healing. Keep your head high and keep on keepin' on.
