The Thanksgiving Duck is a dish that can be served in several different ways. They can be prepared in the oven, on the grill or in the deep fryer (arguably the best way to do it). They have many different flavors but all of them are delicious. They aren’t as important as the Turkey or the Ham, but they’re pretty high up there. Whenever they come out, everyone at the table knows it’s a party and something is about to go down. The Thanksgiving Duck is your uncle. Your uncle is the family member that always knows how to have a good time and isn’t afraid to bring the family together in the process.
The Stuffing is hands-down the absolute best part of any and all Thanksgiving dinners and if you don’t agree, you’re lying. The stuffing’s job is in it’s name – to stuff our bellies with whatever the hell is inside of God’s best dish to mankind. This dish has a major role to fill, though its place is not the spotlight. They are everyone’s favorite and they know it. The Stuffing is your grandma. She is the woman that understands her role to keep all of her children’s’ and her grandchildren’s’ stomachs more than full. And you don’t care because you love her and you love her cooking.
The Thanksgiving Gravy is the glue that holds everything on your plate together. It goes with everything. It makes everything right in the world. Some would call it the foundation of Thanksgiving dinners. The Gravy is your grandpa. The Thanksgiving Pie is the part of the meal that everyone waits for. It’s the one (or three) reasons why you don’t eat four servings of stuffing or half of the turkey at dinner. All of the pies come in all shapes, sizes, and colors and they are all beautiful. With or without ice cream, you can’t hate pie. You can pick and choose and mix and match all of the pies you want to take on that night and none of them will let you down. There’s apple, cherry, blueberry, pumpkin, peach – the list is endless.
