Most of my life, I was told that college was going to be this great destination that I needed to strive to get to. The truth of the matter is that it's not. College is great, but it's not a destination; life doesn't end when you get there.
The reality is that it's just part of the journey. College is an obstacle to overcome in order to better yourself and to further your education. It is engraved into students minds, but truthfully, college isn't for everyone. Does it make someone less successful because they choose a route other than going to college? No.
Questioning someones success leads to the question: What is success? Some may describe it as having a degree, others making a lot of money. However, I believe success is doing something that makes you happy. In order for me to feel as I've lived successfully, I would come home every day to a loving husband, beautiful, happy children, and make sure my family is financially stable. It's different for everyone though. Maybe you'll find your dreams have come true upon the moment of achieving your biggest goal, getting married, every time you see your food coming at a restaurant. No matter what it is, make sure it makes you happy.
Life is a journey that we're all on trying to find ourselves and we may never find an end to it. Living life each day is a good beginning. After all, it's not about the years in your life but the life in your years.
