Life seems to have a way of making sure it kicks you right back to the ground once you feel like you've caught your breath. I don't mean the average bad day either, I mean the lose your job, lose your boyfriend, lose your sanity type of bad days. But every once in a while, for me it's very rare, but there are those amazing days, the days where you're experiencing something and you have no way to react other than to sit there in awe about how incredible you feel at that exact moment.
Crazy how in a bad moment of our lives we don't realize exactly how bad it is cause it normally is a series of events, but when you have that moment or day or week of pure bliss, I hope you start realizing it in that moment. There is no better feeling than being at a festival full of people, or swinging in your eno at 10pm at 70 degrees listening to your favorite band and looking around and realizing, wow I feel absolutely content in this moment. But be careful because just like these moments don't happen often, in their moment, they are fast.
For me, it was music midtown, listening to my favorite band with absolutely no worries or stress. Standing in a crowd full of people who seem to cast no judgement and their only goal is to enjoy their moments and favorite bands with you. There is nothing you can do in that moment other than drop all of the worries outside of the event gates and cherish the moment you're in. Or when you are singing in the car with your best friend on a windows down kind of day and you look over and see someone in their car singing just as loud because in their music at least they have a get away, just for a moment.
In a time where you are transitioning from the comfort of home and your family and experiencing a whole side of life as an independent, it's so easy to get caught up in stressing about bills and school and having a social life. It's hard to take in the great times because at times, it feels like the good outweighs the bad.
To the single mom doing everything on her own to make life happen for her kids in college, or the student that is doing everything on their own, you are kicking life's ass whether you realize it or not. It takes a lot for people to put their feet on the ground from their bed so if you have done that, then you're doing better than most. Walking outside on an early, chilly morning, take in a deep breath of the fresh air, because as many times as you want to give up, there are moments that make all of the craziness so worth it.
