Since I've been at college, I have begun to collect fortunes from Panda Express. The most recent fortune I pulled out of a cookie said "your best is enough."
That is such an important statement. I think everyone has days where they feel insignificant or like they don't matter, especially on their bad days.
But guess what? Your best is always enough. Sometimes there is nothing else you can do but give your best.
I know that sometimes it's really hard to believe that you're enough. I struggle a lot of days with thinking that.
I ask myself all of the what ifs I can think of pretty much every week.
I know that I'm enough though, because Jesus told me so. He left Heaven and came to this nasty corrupt earth for me. Actually he came for everyone that will accept him
So Jesus came, lived a perfect life, free of sin, and then died a criminal's death on the cross. It sounds like to me He thinks we are worth it.
Jesus exchanged everything for you and for me, so that we can exchange everything with him. That includes our insecurities. It's crazy to think that we get to give him the worst of us for the best of him.
We must remind ourselves constantly of what God says about us. When we do that, we will start believing it and living like it.
Here are some verses to remind yourself that your best is enough:
1. Psalm 139: 13-14
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
2. Ephesians 2:10
Kailee Martin
"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
3. 1 Peter 2:9
"But you are a chosen people, royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."
