1. They always have your back.

When you have multiple older siblings, an overwhelming feeling of protection comes along with it. I know that if I was ever in trouble that I could count on every single one of my siblings to save me. They also think I’m the greatest person so I know that they would stick up for me in every situation.

2. You have so many role models to look up to.

My siblings are all extremely successful. I feel so lucky to be able to watch them each do what they are good at and excel in their fields. They all have individual special talents and I try to carry a bit of each one with me wherever I go. They have led lives that spark ambition and motivation in me, which in turn causes an undying excitement to pursue my career and dreams.

3. You get to be a "baby" forever.

Don't get me wrong, I'm the first person who is ready to skip to their 30's, but being the baby forever is pretty comforting. Every year I'm becoming more of an "adult" but in my sibling's eyes I will always be the baby. Since they have done it all, they help me with everything I could possibly need. They watch me grow up in amazement because they still remember me most as a tiny blondie sitting on the sidelines at their soccer games.

4. They start making money before you do.

I don't even want to know how much money my siblings have spent on me. They all have "real" jobs and know how sad a college bank account looks. From dinners to concerts, and everything in between. I have had some of the best experiences with my siblings at such a young age that I simply would not get any other way. I promise I'll pay you all back at some point guys.

5. You mature faster

This is absolutely my favorite part about being the youngest. People say to me all the time that I am “wise beyond my years”. This is absolutely from having siblings range from forty-five to twenty-one years old. They have taught me more about life from their own experiences that I would never know otherwise at the ripe age of nineteen. With all their different professions, I have gathered so much information about life that you don't learn in school. Oh, and of course my favorite knowledge; a taste of music before my time.

I blame them for my making me want to wish away my college years and be adults with them all in the city, but clearly there is much more that I have to thank them for. Also, youngest children are supposedly the most sociable and like to make people laugh. For now, I think making them laugh is what they can thank me for.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
