The Young And The Single This Valentine's Day

Don't let the fear of being single forever make you hate this holiday.

The Young And The Single This Valentine's Day

As Valentine's Day quickly approaches, couples everywhere will express their love for each other with balloons, candy and stuffed animals with red hearts all over them. While couples use this time to appreciate their significant other, those who are single complain about how they will never find "their person" or how dumb a holiday like valentines days is and that it is only a "Hallmark Holiday."

I'm here to tell all you single people to stop moping around and instead celebrate! Coming from a single person herself, there is nothing wrong with being single. Instead of all us moping around on this holiday, we should be celebrating!

Be happy about who you are. Yes, maybe that special person hasn't come into your life yet, but celebrate that in the future they will be in your life. Not everyone is lucky enough to find "the one" when they are young, and sometimes it takes time and many heartbreaks to find the right person. I can promise you that when that time comes, all the wait and heartbreak will be more than worth it.

Use it also as a time to celebrate the happy couples in your life. Valentine's Day doesn't just have to be about you and someone you like, it can also celebrate those in your life who do have that special someone. Go out and do something special for them and show how much their relationship means to you.

Go out and treat yourself this holiday with all the chocolate and romantic comedies you could ever imagine. Just because you are single doesn't mean you can't celebrate this great holiday.

Valentine's Day is about love: love for your family, friends and everyone in-between. So celebrate all that love in your life. Don't let the fear of being single forever make you hate this holiday.

I thought senioritis in high school was rough until I became a college senior about to go into the real world. I'm supposed to have everything figured out, right? College is filled with many things, and we're so often lectured to make the right decisions as we head out on our own into the college life. But sometimes it's necessary to indulge in some guilty pleasures as well as just doing things because you can. And honestly, a lot of the time it's inevitable. College is no piece of cake that's for sure, so it's okay to do some things you deep down know you shouldn't....once in a while anyways.
