Be Young, Dumb, and In Love

There's never a better time to be in love.

As Drake has said, "We live in a generation of, not being in love, and not being together" and looking at it, he is not wrong. Our generation looks at love as a myth and you can't blame us. The divorce rate is 50/50, so why even try? If at the end of the day we are going to end up in our rooms crying and watching endless episodes of "Friends" while eating pounds of ice-cream, why do that to ourselves? It's great to learn to be independent and not rely on the love of someone to love ourselves. Love yourself first but what is so wrong with being in love?

Even though love is painted in a bad light by our generation, it actually has a lot of bonuses. Being in love actually helps mental heath, it can help fight diseases, it can also help with your immune system and so much more. Love helps with our bodies in so many different ways and just for the simple fact of us being in love with someone.

The best part about love is that it doesn't hit you at one specific age. You can even find your soulmate in middle school and not even realize it. Young love is often joked about or look at badly by peers. If you have a relationship young, it's okay. Don't worry about your friend saying that its stupid and it will never work anyways. Why not try? At the end of the day you might have your heart broken but you might also be with your soulmate, no one knows. Even if you do get your heart broken, it is a lesson learned. You'll never know unless you try.

Be young, dumb, and in love. Nothing is better than waking up knowing you have someone that loves you back. The feeling of warmth you get all over your body when they compliment you. The look they give you that just fills your stomach with butterflies. Love is great even though we look at it as a horrible pass time myth.

I'm not saying that it will always be easy or that everyday is going to be rainbows but it can be the best thing that ever happens to you. Yes, the divorce rate is 50/50 and only two percent of high school relationships last but you can be that 50 or two percent. So be in love, doesn't matter what age you are, or if people think it's dumb. How are you suppose to find your soulmate if you never bother to try? At the end of the day love is what makes the world go around.

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
