Well, it's almost here. And if you are anything like me your shopping gets done about 1-2 weeks prior to the big day. So I decided to help you out a little if you are still scrambling. Sometimes, I feel like shopping for women in the 16-25 age range might be difficult. A lot of women have specific tastes. Women are just difficult in general (as a fellow woman I am allowed to admit that aloud). I mean for example, she might want a certain style sweater in blue and if you buy it for her in red then you might as well just light it on fire. I've compiled a list of items I think any girl would be happy to see under the tree on Christmas morning. If you're out and about and you still need to pick a couple things you may benefit from this list to get an idea of what the special gal in your life might be asking for this Christmas.

1. SWEATERS.

Girls love a good warm, soft, cozy sweater. You cannot go wrong in this department. Drop in at American Eagle, Forever 21 or even Target to find some quality comfy sweaters.

2. Jewelry (and no, I'm not talking about that heart shaped garbage).

If your daughter, sister, girlfriend, niece, cousin or granddaughter is anything like me. She probably would appreciate a good pair of earrings or a simple necklace. Stop by Francesca's (my favorite place in the world), Forever 21 (you can literally buy anything in there) or Charming Charlie's to pick up a cute pair of studs or a fun accent necklace. Plus you can never go wrong with a simple bracelet from Alex and Ani.

3. Vests: puffy, quilted, soft, furry, you name it.

I appreciate a good vest. Every color is welcome in my book because they can be paired with literally anything. I was at Target recently and found quite a few that I really liked. Also another good place is TJ Maxx or Marshall's because they have it all. And if you are looking for something better quality or higher end (also more pricey, yikes) Patagonia, The North Face and J. Crew are options as well.

4. Makeup

You might want to swing by Ulta or Sephora if the girl in your life appreciates quality products to "put her face on" with.

5. Socks (pretty simple right).

Cabin, knit, wool, boot. So many socks. You cannot go wrong with a cute pair of socks. Dick's, American Eagle and H&M are all mighty fine establishments you may want to browse if you're looking to purchase a pair of socks.

6. Phone cases.

Unless your daughter, sister, GF, etc. uses an Otterbox or Lifeproof case and refuses to remove it then she might like a new phone case. To many, phone cases are often temporary so something fresh is always appreciated. You can even order them from Amazon for as low as $3.99.

7. Candles.

Or air fresheners if your special gal lives in a college dorm room. Yankee Candle or Bath and Body Works are your best bets for this area. My personal favorite scents are Catching Rays™, Beach Walk™ and Clean Linen™.

8. Boots.

Okay so, boots usually tend to be pricey, especially if we are talking L.L. Bean Boots or Hunter Rain Boots BUT girls love a good pair of booties. Charlotte Russe has some incredible deals this holiday season. Some pairs are as low as $20. Some other stores include Kohl's (everything is on sale there) and Marshall's.

9. Athletic apparel... like Nike perhaps?

Or Adidas would be nice too. Girl love a good pair of sneakers. Or leggings. Or a sweatshirt. Or sweatpants. Or sports bras. Or headbands. You cannot go wrong at stores like Dick's, Lululemon, Athleta, or again Marshall's/TJ Maxx.

10. Anything from LUSH.

Bath bombs, moisturizers, shampoo, face masks. Everything in there is fair game. Touch it all, smell it all. It's glorious.

11. Cups, mugs, water bottles.

TARGET. Go there. Their mugs are so cute. Target also carries S'ip™ water bottles by S'well™. They are metallic water bottles that keep your drink hot or cold for up to 12 hours (plus they come in cute patterns and bright colors).

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

As this semester wraps up, students can’t help but be stressed about finals. After all, our GPAs depends on these grades! What student isn’t worrying about their finals right now? It’s “goodbye social life, hello library” time from now until the end of finals week.

1. Finals are weeks away, I’m sure I’ll be ready for them when they come.
