Let me tell you; transitioning into a young adult sucks. Things just hit you in the face left to right and sometimes it is hard to deal with them. These things being bills, rent, jobs, etc. We, as young adults, go through so much stress. Older adults would always say, "You don't know what stress is, once you get to my age, you will understand." Sometimes adults act like we have it good and do not stress. Well, let me begin by giving you some of the things that young adults stress about:
1. Do I have a bank account at this point?
At this moment, you thought you had "xxxx.xx" dollars in your account, and then you look at the actual amount in your bank account.
2. We don't find the bills, they find us
Some of us have to pay bills. Our phone bills, utility bills, and other bills just love to pile on us. It seems like we can never catch a break.
3. How far behind am I?
Once we pay rent, you know money is already going to be tight. Just when you thought you had money to feed yourself, you dont.
4. Have you been hitting the gym?
We always say we are going to hit the gym hard, and some of us never do because we either work a lot of hours, or we just do not have the motivation.
5. Nothing is going right
The feeling where you feel that everything is crashing down. You have so many things to do, deadlines coming up, and time is short to do it all.
6. I haven't heard you make that noise before
That moment where you know your car is on its last leg. Just when you think nothing else can give you more stress, your car starts to make a noise, or you haven't gotten an oil change, or it just needs to be fixed in general.
7. Please let this one go through
That moment when you are worried you are not going to be able to eat because you do not know if you have sufficient funds.
Whether we are kids, teens, or adults, we all go through life struggles. No matter the situation, our struggles always matter. People may think that what you are going through is not that serious and does not matter. However, people handle situations differently; some harder than others. Point is, you are important and your struggles are also. So, if you have the support or resources, reach out. If you do not know where to go, do research; google is your best friend. You can do it, you just need to have the drive to go through your problems and find solutions.
