Why You Need to Start Watching "Stranger Things" RIGHT NOW

Stop everything you're doing right now because you need to open up Netflix and just set aside the next 8 hours. Trust me, it's for your own good.

It seems like it's always a toss up when you hear "Netflix original." It's going to be amazing or horrible -- there's just no in between. I've been hearing good reviews about Stranger Things for a while now, so one night my friends and I decided, hey, we're not busy for the next few days, let's watch the first season.

And that right there was a WONDERFUL decision because this show is so unexpectedly gripping, who knew you could get addicted so fast?

Having only been released since June 2016, Stranger Things is your perfect 80s-vibe, thriller series inspired by Stephen King, George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, and everyone else who is extremely talented and worth dedicating your screen time to. It's about a young boy who goes missing and his three best friends who become convinced his disappearance has some supernatural influences. While searching for their friend, stranger things (lol) keep happening in their little town of Hawkins, Indiana as more people go missing, mysterious little girls move things with their minds, Christmas lights start to "speak," and strange faceless creatures lurk in the woods scaring the crap out of people.

Without giving away any spoilers, here are 3 reasons why you need to start watching this show ASAP:

1. It's only one season with eight episodes.

You can totally handle that in one weekend! Each episode is between 45-55 minutes long and you can successfully watch about three episodes per night before getting close to breaking curfew. Also it's better not to watch them all at once so you can rave over the madness that happens in every episode (If you're that dedicated & literally want to spend eight hours in a row on this, no judgment).

2. It probably has the best soundtrack of a series-based TV show ever.

The music stays consistent and fits in perfectly with the progression of the episodes. Also the playlist is awesome study music for the upcoming semester and can be found on Spotify right here.

3. It has something for everyone.

Really though, there's a love story, science fiction, government corruption, plenty of jump-scares, and just a unique plot in general. Again, without trying to give away any spoilers, you definitely need to see it for yourself, but I guarantee you'll find it impossible not to move on to the 2nd episode after the pilot.

Not only does the season give a decent amount of closure at the end so you don't hate yourself waiting for the next season, there IS a next season planned & on it's way! The release of the second season is said to come in 2017, and the titles of the episodes have already been released here on ScreenRant but with some MAJOR spoilers, so view at your own risk.

Now go call in sick tomorrow and get started.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
