I love Disney. I've always dreamed of being a princess and finding my prince charming. I love magic, miracles, and happy endings. I take pride in my youthful heart and hope to inspire my future children to believe in all of the beautiful things Disney taught me to believe- like following my heart and chasing my dreams. There are many people in the world who claim that these films give false hope, but I refuse to side with them, because where's the fun in arguing about how inaccurately some animated movies represent life? I certainly don't see it.
All of the sappy stuff aside, Disney movies themselves are beautiful and entertaining, funny and heart-warming. But they're also full of mysteries. Some of the movies connect to others in ways that normal film viewers may not catch. Personally, I'm a huge fan of conspiracy theories. I've read most of the Star Wars ones and I find them incredibly fascinating that fans are so devoted to these huge films that they come up with these theories about characters or plot lines. A Disney theory popped up on my news feed on face book and once I started reading, I became intrigued. I found so many articles and lists of all of the hidden treasures in Disney movies that i'm dying to share with you all. Here are my favorites.
Jessie's owner, Emily, is actually Andy's mom.
Andy and Jessie's owner both wear an identical hat. The decorations on the room of Jessie's owner were very retro which indicates the time period she grew up in that was most likely the same as that of Andy's mom. The name of Andy's mother is never revealed even after three movies. It makes sense that his mother would remark how special Woody is because it's the boy version of a toy she very well could have had growing up.
A lot of characters in the early Disney films don't have mothers, here's why....
Walt Disney felt guilty about the death of his own mother. He bought his parents a home after the success of "Snow White" and believes the faulty heating system in the home led to his mother's carbon monoxide poisoning and death. He felt so guilty that none of the characters he created in his early films were motherless.
Disney recycled animations in quite a few movies to save time and money.
"UP" is actually about Carl's journey in the afterlife.
Many fans of "UP" support the theory that Carl died in his sleep after being told he had to move to a retirement home and his journey to paradise falls is actually his journey to heaven. He is accompanied by Russell, his guardian angel in the form of a child because he and his beloved Ellie wanted a child so badly but their baby died before it was born.
"Frozen," "Tangled," and "The Little Mermaid" are all connected.
One of the directors of "Frozen" confirmed that Anna and Elsa's parents were on their way to a wedding when they got into a shipwreck, possibly Rapunzel and Flinn's. However, they didn't actually die. Instead, they washed up on an island where they built a tree house, had a son, and were attacked by a cheetah. And their ship sank to the bottom of the ocean where Ariel found it.
The Pizza Planet truck from "Toy Story" makes an appearance in multiple movies.
"Wall-e," "Brave," "Cars," "Bug's Life," and "Finding Nemo" just to name a few.
Mickey and Minnie were voiced by a married couple.
Seriously, how cute is that?
Walt Disney kept live animals in the studio lot as reference for his animators during production of "Snow White" and "Bambi."
Some possible Dwarf names in "Snow White" that were considered but not included in the film were Jumpy, Dizzy, Lazy, Puffy, and Stuffy among others.
The spinning wheel from "Sleeping Beauty" makes an appearance in "Tangled."
Tiger roars were recorded for sound effects in "The Lion King" because lions weren't loud enough.
These are just some fun facts and fan theories that I find entertaining and interesting. Some may not be true, what do you think?
