May 25 is National Wine Day in the United States!

We probably all knew that Mother's Day is May 8 this year, and that Memorial day is May 30, but did you know our National Wine Day is May 25? If you're like me, you're going to want to find a relaxing and inexpensive way to celebrate this holiday with your friends. Head to your nearest winery, grab some cheese and crackers at the grocery store, and get ready to celebrate with these creative and fun ideas that will be sure to impress your party guests.

Board Games and Wine Night

Your friends are sure to love a friendly and competitive game of Monopoly along with their favorite glass of wine. Stock up on your reds or whites (or a little bit of both) and break out all the old games stored away in your closet. You'll see who is the most competitive and share a few laughs throughout the night. You can even purchase your own copy of "Wine-opoly" online for only $16.97.

Blind Wine Date

This one is my personal favorite. Buy a few bottles of wine, and cover them in paper bags. Write a number each bag. Have your friends observe, smell, and taste each one, and guess which type of wine it is. You'll learn which of your friends is a real wine "Cono Sur". Your friends might also realize they've fallen for a new, unexpected red or white during their blind wine date. Make sure to reward the winner with a small prize. A bottle of pinot noir perhaps?

Wine Trivia

Create a variety of different wine related games to play throughout your night in. Fill a jar with wine corks and have your friends guess how many there are. You can also visit www.winerist.com for some simple and fun wine trivia to quiz your guests.

Paint and Sip

This idea is becoming more and more popular because it is so fun. Buy some canvases, paint and brushes and allow your friends to display their creativity while sipping their favorite wine. If you don't want to make a mess at your house, there are tons of places around that host "Wine and Sip" events. Be sure to check Groupon for deals in your area. Everyone will leave with their artwork and great memories of their first time celebrating "National Wine Day."

Be sure to let me know in the comments bellow how you plan on celebrating National Wine Day. No matter how I celebrate, I know I'll have a glass of Moscato in my hand.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
