No Matter How Hard You Try, You Will Never Get To Me

Your unhappiness won't affect me.

No Matter How Hard You Try, You Will Never Get To Me

I'm happy, and you're not.

That's what you have made me realize.

I often wonder why some people continuously try to irk certain people with their petty actions. What do you have against me? Is it a boy? A girl? A friend? Whatever it is, your actions will never be enough to get to me. You can act like a kind person who would never hurt a fly who couldn't be happier with their life, but, your actions truly say otherwise.

If you are truly happy, you would not try to bother me.

What do you accomplish by trying to see someone squirm? What do you accomplish by intentionally hurting someone? If you're genuinely happy and content with your life, that happiness will make you feel like you're walking on sunshine and nothing could ever tear you down. You wouldn't feel the need to bother someone else with your unnecessary and hurtful actions. So why are you trying to tear me down?

If there's anything I've observed from your behavior, it is that you aren't happy with yourself, so you find the need to pick on people you feel are weak. Next time you try picking on me, I hope you realize that I am anything but weak. I will not take what you try to throw at me. I've learned that being the bigger person is the most mature thing to do. As a college student, it amazes me how many people don't leave their 13-year-old drama back in middle school. We are adults. We are supposed to be independent and bettering ourselves. We are not supposed to be dedicated to hurting someone else and have a personal vendetta against them. Please tell me, how does that make YOU a better person?

There's nothing wrong in being the bigger person. It shows maturity. It shows that you won't let stupid drama that will never matter get to you. Look around you: there are so many more important things in this world than a "subtweet", or a dirty look, or talking behind someone's back about someone you know, or don't know. There are people around the world struggling to find a better life, there's war, there's hunger. People die every single day. Do you want to let negativity kill you? Negativity will you eat alive. Do something with all that negative energy. Turn it into positivity. Do something to better the world, and not to intentionally try to get to someone else.

What am I trying to say in this article? I'm trying to say that there are too many people that can't move on. It's time to stop this. It's time to focus on yourself and do something good for the world. Stop hurting people. Focus on yourself, and don't let other people try and bring you down from their petty and useless actions. None of this will matter. You're not getting to me. You're not going to tear me down.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
