So you think you want to be skinny?
No, you do not want to be the one word America has made into a phenomenon for girls to admire and wish they were. This is not ideal, and it is not real. So many girls are perfect, and from my perspective, all girls are perfect whether you eat the cheeseburger and fries for dinner or the Kale salad with lemon dressing. Whether you go to the gym two hours a week or 20 or more hours a week. You are perfect. You are your own definition of perfect. You want to know the real definition of perfect? Look at every girl you see walking down the street or every girl you see posting on Instagram. They have qualities that reflect themselves better than doing a 30-day fitness challenge ever will. Their resilience is not measured by how many days they can be on a detox diet and they are certainly not to be looked at as sex objects to please someone who does not like a little extra meat on their woman’s thighs or by the fact you cannot run your hands over her chiseled abs God decided to spend a little more time on.
You have qualities and amazing ones at that. Your brain, it is huge just like the butt you may never have, but so what? Your brain holds everything about you. Your butt just holds muscle. We can survive without a plump butt but we cannot survive without our brains. Our brains give us our perspective on our bodies. Our brain gives us the ability to change our mindset and into a good one.
From personal experience, I have spent 85 percent of the time worrying about my next meal, how not going to the gym will make me feel like I never worked out in my life and how eating that piece of cake was the worst decision I have ever made. So many girls are like this and it is horrible and absolutely terrifying. You know what we could do with 85 percent of our time? Go out with our friends who do not worry whether or not you are going to gain a pound that you will not even see or take notice to. Study more, you will be surprised by how much better it feels to get a good grade on an exam than it did after you weighed yourself.
I want girls to know that eating healthy and being mindful of actions are important and exercising while letting all the sweat drip is one of the best things you can do for yourself. But it is not the only thing that you can do for yourself. You are so much more than a number on the scale and you are so much more than the guy who cannot handle your curves. You can be muscular and you can be thin but you cannot be upset over your body. I refuse to let you be. Skinny is not a word anymore, I threw it out a while ago along with the word fat. You can be fit and healthy, but I refuse to let you be skinny or fat.
