To you that’s feeling drained, scatter-minded, restless:
Chances are, you cannot count the repetitive occurrence of planning a nap. You opened your eyes this morning and did not receive any self-affirmation that you could even move a limb to get out of bed, let alone feeling certain enough to check off even one of the million to-do’s on the list.
You’re stumbling through the darkest of the valleys, and you’re wondering when the light is going to peer into your life again. And just when you think you found level ground, you realize you’re climbing up a slippery, steep hill. You’re just seeking the tiniest bit of satisfaction out of this life.
You’re looking in the wrong places. It does not make a lick of difference what ground you reside on.
You’re forgetting a vital fact: God’s omnipresence.
You’re never too far that you have escaped God’s care, mercy, and adoration for you. You could be standing in the middle of Antarctica or at the center of Times Square, yet your accidental flee from God’s heart works as a GPS tracker for Him to recover you.
There’s no shame in what you’re feeling. No matter how doubtful you are. I guarantee a huge chunk of the people you’ll encounter in a day are imposing the same judgement on themselves. But God doesn’t become overwhelmed. Lucky for you, it is not and never will be in his nature.
The world is undeniably worn and lost, but another benefit of the King is that vast numbers do not phase Him. He has the lens of vision to see the brokenness as a whole, but His power doesn’t stop here. Amazingly, He zooms in to know each soul better then it knows him or herself.
Open your heart, He’ll give you faith like a child, once again.
Joy will soon be found in Christ alone. The hardships do not diminish, but they are performed out of an overflow of the spirit instead of a work. This will surely satisfy your heart.
So, rest at the feet of the Father. When you do not feel His presence, remember this is not due to something that you have not done. God is allowing you this time to rest in Him while He prepares you for the next mission for the Kingdom. This means you are not expected to move lofty mountains and change the world all in one day.
You’re going to need the rest that you have the opportunity to gain for the next mission God is planning to set you on. He admires that you are chasing after Him and long to embody identical traits.
Hold strong in this storm and all your future missions, even when it doesn’t feel safe. You don’t have to know what to pray or what to do. Just raise your hands and fall to your knees. Here, you’ll find the safest place there will ever be.
