1. "The past can hurt you. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it." -Rafiki

As a child, this quote might not mean much to you. As an adult, it all makes sense. When you get older, you begin to experience things that might make you sad, mad, angry, or all of the above. There are things that happen in a lot of our lives that we try to avoid and pretend didn't exist or happen. However, this quote gives us simple and helpful advice. We may make mistakes or get hurt by others, but we have to learn from our past or it will repeat itself.

2. "You are more that what you have become. You must take your pace in the circle of life." -Mufasa

Sometimes in life, you feel like you don't have a place; like you don't belong anywhere. This quote reminds us that there will always be somewhere for you. You have a destiny. Your life has a meaning and a purpose. Finding you place and role in life may be difficult, but the fact that you are alive means that you have a place in this world and a role to fulfill.

3. Life's not fair, is it? You see, I ... well, I shall never be king. And you ... shall never see the light of another day. Adieu." -Scar

This quote brings to light the fact that there will always be people who try to tear you down and stop you from moving forward. People will be jealous of you, threatened by you, and do everything to shut you down. You cannot let people tell you what you are capable of, show them. Just because one person does not believe in you or one hundred people do not believe in you, doesn't mean that you shouldn't believe in yourself.

4. Never forget who you are. -Mufasa

With the things life throws at you, it can be easy to lose your way and venture far from your path. This quote reminds us that we need to stay true to who we are, regardless of the trials we go through or the things that change us.

5. Hakuna Matata -Timone & Pumba

This quote basically tells us to stay calm and try not to worry. It literally means no worries for the rest of your days! When going through things, try to remember that you have to go through the valley to get to the top of the mountain. Don't live your life full of worries.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
