The key to happiness is to find yourself and to love yourself. You might feel like you can't be truly happy with your bad habits and negativity holding you back, but I'm here to tell you that you can change up your routine and your lifestyle and see how these 5 tips can make a HUGE difference.
1. Disconnect
Social media has its perks, but I do think it's healthy to disconnect. We don't realize how addicted we become until we aren't on it for a while and suddenly have that moment where we feel like we need to check our phones. And why do we? What super important thing are we going to miss? Delete your apps for a few days, if you can. The likes and comments will still be there when you get back.
2. Exercise
Endorphins make you happy, right? So, go for a walk, go to the gym, go hiking, or take a zumba class. Just do something that gets you moving for at least 30 minutes every day. Not only will your body thank you, but your mind will too!
3. Do Something That Challenges You
Do an activity that challenges you. You will feel so accomplished that you did something that was out of your comfort zone. That adrenaline rush you get when you do something exciting is so worth it. It makes you feel like you can do anything.
4. Let Go of Negativity
Cut ties with friends who are no good for you and don't build you up. Let go of people who don't check on you or support you. If you don't like where you are, change it, if you can. If you're at a job that makes you unhappy, leave.
5. Eat Healthy
You don't have to all the time, but if you're healthy, you'll feel better and won't have as many health problems in the long run.I feel so much better after eating a healthy meal because I don't feel as disgusting and I feel like I did my body right. It's ok to eat some junk food every now and then, but healthy food is important. You'd be surprised of how good healthy meals can be. Look up recipes and create new dishes. Maybe invite a friend over to help you!
Happiness starts within you. Other people can't make you become 100% happy. Although people can contribute to your happiness. you have to put the effort in to make yourself happy, genuinely happy. Do things for yourself and not for others. Live the life that YOU want to live.
