8 Signs You Might Be Obsessed With Patagonia

If you have a close relationship with me or have met me at any point in time, I will go ahead and put a question to rest that I'm sure you've had before. Yes. I own a lot of Patagonia jackets. It is not out of the ordinary to hear the question, "How many Patagonias do have?" or, "That is a different one from the last time I saw you." What can I say? Patagonia products are my thing, I guess.

You might also be a Patagonia junky like me or have friends who are (in my case it's both), so here are some indications that you, too, suffer from Patagonism.

1. Any money you receive for birthdays, Christmas, or odd jobs that you intend to save ends up going toward that new Pat that you saw on the website the other day.

2. You know when every Patagonia seasonal sale is going on and use that as an excuse to get the best deals. I mean you'd be losing money not to get one for so cheap, right?

3. You have the fall countdown going all summer long because you are pumped to whip out that new pullover you bought in the off season.

4. You have been buying Patagonia products for longer than the brand has been "a thing" amongst college and high school students. This excludes you from being in the mainstream Pat-wearers. (This is an essential).

5. In your spare time, you research products to find the best down jacket or fleece vest, but always end up going back to Patagonia for the obvious superior quality.

6. At holidays and weekend trips home you share all the specs of your newest Pat purchase with family, trying to get them to share your enthusiasm.

7. You always find an excuse to wander in outdoors stores to look at jackets, but then scour the internet to find the best deals.

8. You occasionally feel guilty for your Patagonia collection, but never experience buyer's remorse.

Everyone has that one "thing" that they enjoy saving for and spending money on. For us true Patagonians, the evidence is more obvious than other buyers' choices. So if you see us on campus or out in our college towns, just know that yes, we enjoy Patagonia products, and yes, it might be a problem.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
