If someone had told me my freshman year of college that I'd join a sorority and end up absolutely adoring it, I'd probably laugh and shrug it off. Even though I initially never planned on becoming involved in Greek life, I have found such joy in choosing to join and becoming a sister of a Sigma Sigma Sigma National Sorority during my sophomore year. I have grown in so many ways and have learned so much about myself and from all of the beautiful women I call my sisters, who surround me. If your favorite letters are Sigma Sigma Sigma, you might identify with one, some or maybe all of these things listed below

1. Your blood type is purple glitter

2. Violets are your favorite flower.

3. Your favorite syllable is "ma" (when you silently correct people when they say "oh you're in Tri Sig.")

4. You know how to rock the skull and crossbones and still look good in pearls.

5. You know when we were set in motion.

6. You wish you were as cool as Robbie Page.

7. You snap every time you see Carrie Underwood on TV or perform.

8. You proudly support the countless heroes and relentless warriors of St.Jude's Children's Hospital.

9. You get a little too excited when "Tri Sigma Girls" begins to play.

10. Hazing is just a word in the dictionary.

11. You never know how much of a support system the ladies to your left and right will become for you from your first days as a sister to your last days as a senior.

12. You'll never forget which year Columbus sailed the ocean.

13. You cry every time you read our ritual.

14. Crafting is a way of life.

15. You've essentially built a shrine devoted to all of your wonderful Sigma treasures.

16. You've affirmed your values and strive as an individual as well as a chapter to move on ever forward towards greater heights and achieving your fullest potential.

17. You've gained a voice, strengthened your morals and enhanced your feelings of self-worth and purpose in life. (I know I sure have.)

18. You realize you are involved in something much larger than yourself.

19. You've learned that wherever you go in life, that your sisters will always have your back. You've discovered that no matter the distance or how long you're apart that they will always be with you and remain close to your heart.

20) You’ve discovered that your sisters are like family and that . . .

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
