Three championships in five years means the Giants have a lot of fans, some old and some new. Some of the most gifted players in baseball history have played for SF and some of the current Giants have earned quite a reputation on the field as well. If you follow baseball, you either love the Giants or you love to hate them. Here are just a few things all Giants fans have experienced:
You’ve missed school or work for a parade
Whether it was the market street parades or a game you just couldn’t miss. You had no problem missing school to see your favorite team play. There’s nothing like playing hooky with your family while watching some ball in the Bay.
You support your team no matter how horrible their facial hair is
From our “Fear the Beard” days, to Timmy’s 8th grader mustache, we stuck by you guys through and through. Let's not forget those mohawks or mullet-like days either.
You’ve hit some epic home runs in the kiddie area
Whether you were 5 or 15, you felt like a rock star hitting a homer at AT&T Park, even if the bases were all five feet apart.
You’ve taken family trips to Arizona for Spring Training
If you’re from California, one of the only reasons you and your family would go on “vacation” to Arizona was for your favorite baseball team.
You’ve gone down the Coke Bottle Slide
You can see the iconic coke bottle from almost anywhere in the city and can't resist going up there to see what it is all about!
You love Kruk and Kuip
You’re just as big of a fan of the broadcasters as you are the players. Former Giants Kruk and Kuip’s adorable witty comments and dry humor make the games you watch from home or on the radio feel like a true Giants game. It feels like you’re watching with old friends when they’re commentating. You also absolutely hate having to listen to other commentators because it’s just not the same.
Everyone (even Dodgers fans) know AT&T has the best ballgame food
Whether you love or hate the Giants, you cannot argue with the hard and fast facts. Our ballpark food is amazing; it is actually so amazing you forget you’re eating at all ballpark sometimes. Two words: GARLIC FRIES…I rest my case.
