1. Your friends tag you in cat memes or pictures.
My friends are always tagging me in cat pictures on Instagram or Facebook. Sometimes they even send me Snapchats of random cats they see. My mom will send me pictures of the cats throughout the day. They know anything cat related will make my day.
2. When it’s cold out, you probably don’t need a jacket because you’re already wearing a fur coat.
I’ll cuddle and play with my cats and end up with cat hair all over me. And just forget about wearing black or dark clothes. They are magnets for cat hair. This doesn't bother me; I wear my furry clothes with pride because I love my cats.
Crazy cat lady tip: buy a travel-sized lent roller to keep in your purse. You never know when you'll come across a cat you want to love on.
3. Most of your photo album on your phone are pictures of your cats.
I’m pretty sure I take selfies with my cat everyday. I also take pictures and videos of her when I think she’s being cute, which is all the time. She probably takes up half of my storage but it's totally worth it.
OMG she's so cute!
4. You own a lot of cat stuff.
I have cat mugs, cat shirts, cat sweaters, cat pictures, cat coasters, cat-shaped cookie cutters, cat measuring cups, cat socks, cat computer case, cat pillow, cat purse and most importantly, Catopoly, the cat version of Monopoly (don't regret that purchase at all).
5. You buy your cat a lot of gifts.
When I got my own cat, I shopped for her whenever I shopped for myself. She now has a bunch of toys and cat costumes. She doesn't really like the costumes but they were too cute to pass up. I even stuffed her Christmas stocking with her favorite mouse toys.
Also, before I got my own cat, I had a hard time leaving my favorite cat at home when I left for college. So much so that we now have matching reminders of our special relationship: a collar for my cat and a bracelet for me.
6. You follow several cat pages on social media.
So I counted and I didn't even realize it but I'm following 8 cat pages on Instagram. Honestly, I wasn't really surprised. They're too cute not to follow and I like every picture posted.

7. When you have to leave your house, you miss your cat 5 seconds later.
Seriously, the hardest thing I have to do is say goodbye to my cat when I have to leave the house for any reason and can't take her along. It is especially hard when she follows me to the door. It breaks my heart a thousand times to close the door in her face. If I've been away from her for a whole day, I always tell whomever I'm with that I miss my cat.
8. Your cat is your best friend and basically your soulmate.
I don't know about you other cat ladies out there but my cat understands me more than anyone else. She knows how to make me laugh and knows when to comfort me when I'm down. I share my food with her. We like to cuddle. We're pretty much a couple. Who needs a boyfriend when you have a cat?
9. Your cat does everything with you.
Whether it's taking a bath, riding in the car or doing homework, you want your cat with you. Your cat just makes everything better. My cat eats with me, rides in the car with me, takes baths with me, watches Netflix with me, naps and cuddles with me. She's my go-to-girl whenever I need a companion.
10. Your significant other MUST share an appreciation for cats.
The most important question I ask a guy before I date him is "Do you like cats?" As long as he has somewhat of an appreciation for cats, I'm good to go for a date. If he's going to be around me, then he's going to be around my cat too so it's better to know if he likes them or not from the get-go.
