William Penn High School is the only high school in the Colonial School District, so a lot of the students there are people you’ve probably grown up with. Even though there are a lot of different kinds of students at WP, the Colonials are a big family. If you attend Penn now or have graduated from there, then you know the pains everyone has had to suffer. No matter what clique you were in, you're all connected by cold pizza and football games.

1. You’ve had to suffer having classes that are on opposite sides of the building.

WP is a big school and having one class in the W100s and the next class in the N200s was just a way for counselors to keep students in shape.

2. You’ve wondered who actually had one of those red lockers in the hallway.

Five minutes is a short time to run across a school, seriously, who has time to switch books in between classes?

3. You probably thought that walking in the hallway in between classes was probably the most annoying thing ever.

It has been an hour and a half since you’ve seen your friend, you don’t have to stop traffic to give them a hug.

4. The shortcut is the best thing that has ever existed.

That glorious shortcut made that trek from W206 to N112 a lot more bearable.

5. You’ve debated with a teacher that you are most definitely not late to class.

I know the bell just rang, but my big toe was over the threshold 1.5 milliseconds before it rang -- so technically I’m not late.

6. The additional notes people write in the textbooks are the best way to make class go by faster.

Especially flipping through the book and having a stranger writing to you and calling you a name. Classic.

7. You’ve asked everyone what lunch period they had the first week of school.

When you have B2 lunch with your best friend, you know it’s going to be a good semester.

8. You’ve actually gotten sick of pizza.

Since pizza is a vegetable (apparently), we’re forced to have it every Friday.

9. You’ve walked by the Penn Bistro and wondered why you weren’t taking a culinary class.

It almost always smells amazing there and you just want to eat everything.

10. You know that WP is always giving.

From the annual blood drive to the 2nd Grade Fun & Games Night, William Penn students are always giving back to the community.

11. You knew something exciting was about to happen when you spot Billy Penn.

Mascots are kinda freaky, but Billy is my favorite.

12. You had a love-hate relationship with the morning announcements.

I don’t want to be energetic in the morning, but I really love hearing that William Penn is the best high school in Delaware.

13. Sports are a pretty big deal around Colonial Nation.

My heart goes out to the music department, but the talent the student athletes hold is absolutely incredible. (Not to mention the football state championship in 2014, having a football team that was undefeated is a pretty good feeling.)

14. You remember hearing about the legendary pool on the 3rd floor.

It’s the oldest and most popular prank to pull on freshmen, so they don’t believe it. However, it’s still fun to try.

15. Graduation is such a bittersweet day.

Even though you’re tired of the crowded hallways, strict schedules and day old pizza, you’re really going to miss this school. William Penn is a huge school, but you find a few people that become your family, whether you’re a choir geek, band kid, super brainy kid, or student athlete. You’ll miss the days after school, joking around with your favorite teacher, and the group of friends you’ve made.

No matter how much time passes by, you’ll always be a Colonial.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
