The perception that a good majority of high school seniors have about college is the fact that college is extremely stressful and time consuming. Personally, I definitely have less stress as a college student than I did as a high school student. I admit that I do have mild panic attacks from time to time and college has not been an easy walk in the park, but I have enjoyed the experience so far. I think my limited stress is due to the presence of God and the quality of my friends here at Samford.
Whenever I come across an issue, I give it to God. I look away from the problem and find a solution. I stopped being so quick to judge. I stopped being filled with anxiety. I stopped, because I can acknowledge what obstacles I overcame to get to Samford and I know that I will be graduating in 2020.
I know my diploma will be on the wall of my corner office. I am successful and God is present. Why should I be worried and stressed? To quote John D. Rockefeller, “The most important thing for a young man is to establish a credit... a reputation, character.” College is not about being stressed and crying all the time. College is about building a name for yourself.
Just stay humble, hustle and keep moving forward.
