If You Give A Girl A Cowbell
Jamie Kathryn McGee

If you give a girl a cowbell, then she'll probably go to Mississippi State.

And this is what she'll be thinking...

1. "I have got to decorate this!"

There is nothing more exciting than receiving a blank cowbell. It's your canvas and you're the artist. Paint it, add glitter, give it some decals, it's your's and it's a true work of art.

2. Starkville will always be home...even a home away from home.

The state of Mississippi isn't called "The Hospitality State" for nothing. The city of Starkville alone is a friendly, small, college town; everybody knows everybody, and everyone is a part of the family. And she just can't wait to return to her happy place!

3. She'll probably be in love with bulldogs...and might have a Pinterest board dedicated to them.

While having a picture made with the mascot "Bully," is awesome, she will get all jumpy on the inside when she is sitting right next to the live "bully" and gets to pet the local celebrity.

4. Her holidays will most likely be wrapped in maroon and white.

And there's nothing wrong with that! After all Maroon is kind of red... So it's Christmas colored, right? Yes. Cowbells ring, are you listening?

5. She'll go down there to campus, as much as she can.

Even for just the day, two days or for a few hours...it doesn't matter because there is always something going on. Baseball, football, soccer, anything, it's all there. And sometimes she'll be there when is history being made at Dudy-Noble Field in Polk -- DeMent Stadium, home of the ever so famous Left Field Lounge, for all you baseball die-hards out there.

6. She's will without a doubt going to cheer on those Bulldogs, even when they're not at home.

Just because they're away doesn't mean she won't react to the events she's watching on TV and still be ringing that personalized cowbell in the house. Even when cowbells are banned from certain places, doesn't mean she's still not going to cheer on the loudest!

7. In fact, she knows no limits when it comes to the Bulldogs.

Even when they're playing 391 miles away, on a soaking wet, freezing, tiresome football bowl game. She's always prepared...maybe not always as much as she should be...

8. Maroon Friday is not only a fashion choice, but a lifestyle.

If she isn't wearing maroon on Fridays, especially Fridays before a game, then is she really supporting the 'dawgs? She doesn't need to find that out, she probably as plenty of Mississippi State T-shirts to wear everyday of the week year round, no worries.

9. She'll lives for Saturdays Down South.

Football season! Maybe even enjoy some tailgating in the Junction, cheering on the players on their march to the lovely Davis Wade Stadium, at the Dawg Walk and of course, watching above in the stands, cowbell ready to ring.

10. She'll love the words blaring out from the stadium "First Down! Hail State!"

That bell is ringing away. And when the glorious touchdown is made, she'll be jumping around joined by other fans and their bells. What a lovely sight.

And when it becomes those dreaded times when the other team as the ball, and the sign of "Silence your Bells" or "Respect the Bell" appear on the jumbotron, she'll probably look just like this, waiting for the raise that bell back in the air. (Cowbells aren't fun when you have to keep them quiet.)

10. One day she'll look back at all the good times she's had at Mississippi State, all the memories she made cheering on the bulldogs, being a bulldog and she'll cast her eyes on that now old, beat up, chipped, but very loved cowbell and remember how she started her journey to where she is today.

Buy a that girl a cowbell! You definitely won't regret the happiness that it will bring. Go dawgs and hail State!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
