Everyone is so excited for Halloween, dressing up getting candy, scary costumes...then comes Christmas, right? Pretty lights, snow, presents, and Santa Claus is on everyone's minds after Halloween. WRONG! Y'all are skipping over the tastiest holiday yet...Thanksgiving!!!!
Thanksgiving matters! I am so sick of everyone looking over turkey day and skipping right to Christmas. I'm not ready for Christmas music and the snow and Christmas scents of the season. I want gravy boats and wishbones, I want a cranberry relish scented wax melt and a mountain of mashed potatoes! We need some Thanksgiving music in our lives (someone write some please). November is too early for "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas".
Sure, you get together with your family on Christmas and spend time with them. But you're not thinking about spending time with them and being thankful for their presence, you're excited to see what you're getting gift-wise. Thanksgiving is a time to embrace your family and let them know how much you appreciate them, be thankful for everything you have and not worry about what you don't have.
So when Thanksgiving Day comes around and you're all FINALLY excited about your mountains of potatoes and your streams of gravy, I don't want to see one picture of your plates since you went right from Halloween to Christmas and basically shit on Thanksgiving.
