“You don’t know what love is.”

I'm so over that sentence. I'm so over being told what I know and don't know.
No one knows what love is.
Even at 56, no one knows what love is, because it changes for the people it’s around.
Love is personal.
Different for each person who experiences it.
Love is adventure.
Love is passion
Love is 2am mornings of crying into your pillow, but rolling over to a text/phone call/ your love and everything being okay again.
Love is reinforcement and support
Love is learning when to throw in the towel
For your own sanity.
As a people, regardless of age, we can identify what love isn’t.
Love isn’t harmful words
Love isn’t a heavy hand against your body
Love isn’t insults
Or long drawn out anger bouts
Love isn’t neglect
Or abandonment
Love also isn't staying when you know you should leave.
This is how I define love
Not how it’s “supposed to be”
Love has fantasized ideals
Because love has no parameters
Except those placed by those involved.
