When You Discover You Are A Woo Girl From HIMYM

It's honestly our mating call and that's okay with us

When You Discover You Are A Woo Girl From HIMYM
Where Party

College has taught me many things, including the fact that my friend group is most definitely considered the "woo girls". Unsure as to what a "woo girl" is? A "woo girl" is defined by Urban Dictionary as "A women usually between the ages of 18-24 who shows her excitement and fun that she is having with her friends by exalting with a "WOOO" usually in unison with 4-5 other whoo girls"... Remind you of anyone? Same here...

Now I am not ashamed of being a woo girl. I am enjoying life with my other fellow woo girls and we just like to express out excitement in a vocal way... It's basically our mating call and there's nothing wrong with that.

Allow me to explain why we are considered "woo girls":

1) When our song comes on:

We may not need to woo to explain that we love this song more than everyone else in the room, but we do it anyway.

2) Birthdays:

Obviously we are going to be greatly excited when one of our fellow "wooers" turns another year older. This always requires an extra loud "woo" and for us to remind everyone that it is OUR night, not anyone elses.

3) To unite us:

We need everyone in the entire world to understand that we are best friends and we have a great time together (other than just by our Instagram posts of the same group photo). Our "woos" direct a lot of attention to us, but on the bright side it also makes us stand out as a close group.

4) When you see one of your "wooers" getting to know that cute boy at the party:

Of course we are going to be excited about one of our girls sharing a special moment with that cute boy in the corner. High fives and "woos" are exchanged to represent our approval.

5) Passing that exam you studied all week for:

Spending every day studying for a specific exam always calls for a special exalimation once you realize you passed it! Everyone then joins in because now that the exam is over and graded, they can have their fellow "wooer" back.

6) Sharing a mutual disliking for someone:

It's not everyday that we all dislike the same person for whatever reason... but when someone stabs one of us in the back, we all put up our baracades and protect those inside the "wooing" group.

6) And of course as a cover up:

We may not always exclaim why we need to go out, but the "woo" is often used as a cover up to show that we may actually be dying on the inside...

Which also works for men...

What is the male version of a "woo" girl? Stay tuned to find out!!!

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

As this semester wraps up, students can’t help but be stressed about finals. After all, our GPAs depends on these grades! What student isn’t worrying about their finals right now? It’s “goodbye social life, hello library” time from now until the end of finals week.
