You Did Your Best!

Accept the grades and rest up to keep going!

You Did Your Best!

As Finals draw to a close, or maybe loom ahead for some, I just wanted to say this:

You did your best.

For real! You did your best! In case you have some extremely high expectations, just know that it is not possible to ace every single final. There's always going to be some regrets or points missed. But it's okay! Your life is not really going to be affected by that 84% on your psychology final. Your career is not doomed because of that B final grade.

There is so much stress in our world today. Just the fact that you made it through finals week should feel like a huge accomplishment! You did your best and you made it through! Go you!

To top it all off, guess what's right around the corner?

CHRISTMAS BREAK!!!!!!

YESSSSSS!!!!! If your semester has been anything like mine, a break is exactly the thing that is needed. (And if you feel like you don't need a break, well, then maybe you didn't actually do your best? Haha!) Our bodies can only handle so much stress, so use this break to rest up and have fun!

You're doing okay... you really are! I know school is hard and I know that you're questioning what in the world you're doing by putting yourself through all the stress. But you're doing okay. You are going to make it through and you're going to learn a lot in the process! So don't worry about all the not-quite-perfect grades and don't stress about all the work ahead. It will get done because you are going to continue to do your best. And your best will get you so very far.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
