Yes, it's true.

You Can Have Everything You Want This Semester

Well, it's that time again. School is starting back, and with some hesitancy, I can say I'm actually a little... excited?

What? How can this be? Why?

It's because I've decided I'm going to get everything I want this semester. Yes, I'm serious. I am going to get everything I want this time around. Why? Because I've decided that I can have everything I want and do not have settle for anything less. I can have great grades. I can excel in my extracurricular activities. I can maintain a social life with wonderful friends. I can reach individual and personal goals I have set for myself, and I will do all of those things.

And so can you. This may come as a shocking revelation to some and a not so shocking revelation to others, but the only thing stopping us from getting what we want out of life is us. Yes, that's right. Ourselves. We need to get it through our minds that we are the only thing that can hold us back. We have low expectations of ourselves and then consequently think that we can't make our dreams and goals a reality. So in turn, they just stay those: dreams and goals.

We are not only meant to achieve our dreams and goals but really and truly, we can go above and beyond those things. We can be greater and achieve more than we ever thought possible if only we would believe in ourselves. Why is it that we can seemingly be the best cheerleaders for our friends and loved ones, but not with ourselves? What if it's possible that we have all missed the mark? What if it's possible that what I'm saying is even the slightest bit true?

Let's all try it this semester and see what happens. Deal? Deal.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
